  • Dissection Tray: Provides a stable and clean surface for your dissection.
  • Dissection Tools: A basic kit including a scalpel, forceps, dissecting scissors, and pins.
  • Dissection Specimens: Preserved worm specimen specifically prepared for educational dissection.
  • Lab Apron: Protects your clothing from spills and stains.
  • Nitrile Gloves: Ensures safety and hygiene during the dissection process. Five different sizes available.

With over 2 decades of teaching experience, I have a deep passion for science and a commitment to making learning fun and accessible for all my students.   • What age group is the Ultimate Worm Dissection suitable for?

    The course content is tailored to be engaging and educational for a wide range of ages, with activities and explanations appropriate for each level. The Ultimate Worm Dissection is designed for homeschool students in grades 2-12. For younger students, please have a older sibling or parent closely supervise and assist when necessary.

  • Do we need any prior knowledge of dissection or biology?

    No prior knowledge is required! The course includes step-by-step video instructions and detailed explanations to guide students through the dissection process, making it accessible for beginners.

  • What materials will we need for the dissection lab?

    You will need a basic dissection kit (scalpel, forceps, dissecting scissors, pins, and a dissecting tray) and a preserved worm specimen. We encourage you to have safety equipment such as safety glasses, gloves, and a lab apron. You have the option to purchase the Ultimate Worm Dissection with a lab kit that includes this materials, or without. A worksheet will be provided for documenting our observations, so a writing utensil will also be necessary.

  • How long does the course take to complete?

    The course is self-paced, allowing students to complete it at their own convenience. Most students will need approximately 1 hour to go through the videos, complete the dissection, and finish the accompanying worksheets and quizzes.

  • Is there any support available if my child has questions during the course?

    Yes, the course includes access to a community forum where students and parents can ask questions, share their findings, and connect with other learners. Additionally, I am available to answer any specific questions through the platform.

  • Will my child receive a certificate upon completion?

    Yes, students who complete the Ultimate Worm Dissection will receive a certificate of completion. This certificate can be a valuable addition to their educational portfolio.

  • How is the course content delivered?

    The course is delivered entirely online through Thinkific. It includes high-quality video instructions, interactive worksheets, quizzes, and access to a community forum.

  • Can multiple children in the same household use the same course enrollment?

    Yes, multiple children in the same household can share the same course enrollment. Each child can work through the material at their own pace and complete the activities individually. If you want them to have their own lab kit, you will need to purchase additional kits.

  • Is the preserved worm specimen safe and easy to handle?

    Yes, the preserved worm specimens used in the course are safe for educational purposes and easy to handle with the use of dissection gloves. Proper dissection techniques and safety guidelines are covered in the course to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience.
